Assigned a task to create a desk organizer for a fellow classmate. Interviewed and analyzed the needs for the user and the problem of disorganization as an artist in finding the needed art supplies.

Meet Nicole!

Sophomore in Industrial Design

Nicole is an artist and maximalist. Her life as an artist and designer, requires her to use many different materials and writing utensils that she can navigate when creating work. She usually uses a variety of materials to use for different types of projects.

Prototype and exploration

From the process of interviewing Nicole began by noting the pain points of her artistic work routine and brainstorming solutions that can make her organization of materials effective and convenient.

Final Model

The final model results in a shape that allow Nicole to divide and organizing her needs. By prioritizing her problems and bringing solutions, it creates a space where she can customize all she wants.

Assembly and disassembly

Allowing the desk organizer to be modular, allows Nicole to acsess all the materials she needs whenever she wants, but keeps her organized.
